Ethiopia-Russia Talks in Moscow Signal Africa’s Next Energy Frontier Nuclear Power

Ethiopia’s Foreign Minister Gedion Timotheos met Sergey Lavrov in Moscow today, advancing discussions on economic cooperation, WTO membership, and most notably nuclear energy collaboration.

Ethiopia’s planned partnership with Rosatom marks a strategic step toward building a VVER-1200 nuclear power plant, positioning the country to complement its hydropower resources with clean, stable energy for industry and innovation.
