Kenyans dominated the New York City Marathon, sweeping the podium in both the men’s and women’s races. A new women’s course record was also set in the victory.

The long-time marathon greats, Kenenisa Bekele and Eliud Kipchoge, made what seemed like their final bids at the distance, Bekele dropping out mid-race, while Kipchoge faded far from contention. Sifan Hassan was also not at her best as she finished sixth in the women’s race.
